The Top 5 Christmas Movies

One of the best bits of Christmas is sitting down with the family and watching a festive film – So what are the best five films that every family should watch this Christmas? The Snowman – One of the most popular Christmas films, loved by families everywhere, the 1984 animated classic is a beautiful story about a boy and his magical snowman. The end is sure to have the whole family in tears, but don’t let that put you off. This is a Christmas classic, and of course you can follow it with the equally brilliant the Snowman and Snow dog!

Elf – Will Ferrell stars as Buddy, a human adopted by an old Elf in this hilarious Christmas film. The story follows Buddy as he heads to New York to meet the father he never knew. This film will have the whole family laughing their heads off as he tries to adjust to life in the human world!

Arthur Christmas – This is a great Christmas film by Wallace and Gromit creators Aardman animations, it features the voices of James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie and Jim Broadbent. It is funny and touching, and is the story of Santa’s youngest son Arthur and his mission to deliver a missed present to a little girl before dawn breaks on Christmas morning. Grand-Santa is a particularly hilarious character, and it will make you wish owned Christmas the board game!

Miracle on 34th Street – This adorable film is great for Christmas eve – the story of a santa-skeptic girl and her mother who live in New York, the real Santa comes into their lives, and is determined to convince not only them, but the world of his existence!

The Santa Clause – This is another funny film that sees a busy single dad inadvertently start to become the new Santa Claus! Of course, his son is delighted by this! It is a brilliant film, and if you want more, there is a Santa Clause two and three which are also great!
